TAB President - Welcome

Welcome to the Richmond Law Trial Advocacy Board's website! Thank you for visiting our website and taking an interest in our Board.

The Trial Advocacy Board (TAB) enjoys a long-standing tradition of success and continues to demonstrate its professionalism, dedication, and skills as it earns a national reputation as a powerhouse in trial advocacy. TAB serves as a forum for students who desire to pursue litigation or advocacy-based careers. Putting its skills to the test, TAB, which consists of a select group of students from each law school class, competes against other law schools in national trial competitions. These competitions provide our student advocates with practical experience, arguing before federal and state judges, law professors, and experienced trial attorneys from the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, TAB members receive extensive, on-going training in trial strategy, case development, witness preparation, evidence, and effective courtroom communication.

I am honored to serve as President for the 2013-2014 academic year and to work with the new Executive Board. Based upon our members' inputs, we developed a vision for the upcoming year - Teamwork, Training, and Trophies - and hope to build upon the accomplishments from previous years. We are excited about TAB's new mandatory training program as well as our upcoming networking events with TAB alumni, local practitioners, and judges.

If you are interested in gaining admission to our Board or want to get involved as a coach, instructor, or judge to further develop our student advocates, please email me at hayley.mohr@richmond.edu. We welcome the involvement from members of the local legal community - your time and energy are invaluable to our success in developing stronger advocates and making a positive impact in our legal community. Moreover, we look forward to strengthening relations with TAB alumni and fostering camaraderie among the generations of TAB alumni.

Respectfully yours,

Hayley Mohr
